Hida tools seems to be the only place that I have been able to find these type of brooms.
They are great and cost only about $10-but the shipping cost is very high and  they will only ship 1 broom per box.
Thanks Joy

Joy, there is a craftsperson in this area that makes them, but they are likely more expensive than Hida plus shipping.

Hi Don
Thanks for the info. I did find how to make a bamboo broom on The JGO website. It would be fun or interesting to try to make some- just don't know if I would have the time.
If you have any contact info for this person in your area that makes brooms I wouldn't mind trying to contact him.
Whenever you have a chance. Thanks Joy

Joy, i am hoping she will be at the Kerrville Renaissance Festival coming up.  I will let you know.

Kyoto was/is my go to place for brooms. Small bamboo hand brooms were carried home for our gardens in Hilo. Package wouldn't fit in the suitcase.
Larger bamboo brooms were available at Anzen Hardware in Los Angeles.

Hida ships 2 brooms and other asst stuff to me.
Hida ships 6 brooms in a single box to Portland Japanese Garden

Maybe consider this as a substitute in the USA...at your local Home Depot.

My local stores do not stock but will ship it to the store for free for you to pick up.

Thanks to all of you that sent info on brooms!! I've had some major health issues and have not been able to stay in contact.
But things are finally getting better.
Sounds like some good resources. I'm excited to look into all of them
