Enjoy traditional music performances as the moon rises over the pond, and as darkness falls, wonder at the Garden illuminated by hundreds of paper lanterns. This lovely evening is one of the Garden's most popular annual events, get your ticket early!

*Please note that annual passes are not valid for admission to this event, a special admission cost applies.

For one enchanting evening a year, the Seattle Japanese Garden is magically lit up with lanterns, luminaries and floating boats on the pond, welcoming the arrival of the full moon in Japanese tradition.

Performances include:
*Traditional Japanese dances by Fujima Fujimine Dance Ensenble
*Instrumental music on shakuhachi and koto by James Jennings, Marcia Takamura and Chigusa Kitai.
* Evocative movement art by Kogut Butoh.
*Poetry of the night sky and haiku writing contest by Haiku Northwest.

Enjoy a special view of the moon with telescopes provided by Seattle Astronomical Society.

This is also a special chance to enjoy a traditional Moon Viewing chado tea ceremony. Ceremonies require advance registration and sell out quickly, so register early.
