Hi,

I'm Ellie and I'm from Sydney Australia. I'm a graphic designer and illustrator. I've long been interested in Japanese design and craftsmanship and garden design is only part of that interest.  I've just returned from my third trip to Japan ("Sakura Chasing") and my husband and I were very inspired by the gardens we saw whilst over there and are starting to plan work to transform our own garden. I'm also learning the art of brush painting and have been very interested in Zen Buddhism for a number of years.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure someone on here will be able to answer your question. Best of luck. By the way, of all my travels abroad I put the blue mountains in Australia near the top of my list. Good day... Michael

Welcome to the Forum. I live in Hawaii and part of my life is wrapped up in the local Buddhist temple where sumi-e classes are offered. A larger temple in Hilo offers more and later this month I will help provide materials for a flower arranging class.
Perhaps the local temple could be a resource for you? I looked on line and found this URL for Sydney:
http://www.hongwanji.com.au/
Here is the link from the main temple in Kyoto:

In 2012, the 7th international symposium on Japanese gardens was held near Sydney. Did you go? Are you familiar with Mr. & Mrs. Ken Lamb of Imperial Gardens?
I noticed a post from you in the lantern section too and can visualize the color you seek. I hope you find the right lantern for your garden.
