At the end of the CBS Sunday Morning broadcast on May 20th, there will be a 2-3 min. segment of shots taken at the Chicago Botanic Garden, featuring the Malott Japanese Garden, as well as other gardens (including the Waterfall, which is also "my" garden). Tune in! The show airs CST from 8-9:30, you'll have to check your local listings for times if you are in a different time zone.
The Korean azaleas are in full bloom so they shots they took are pretty nice. We had a hard time convincing the camera man that there were other gardens for him to shoot.
Sounds like you found a camera man with good taste...
Thanks for the notice, Kristin. Perhaps you could notify us the day of the event so we don't forget?
If anyone wants to see the video clip, email me. I can't post it - the clip is too large and I'm too technically challenged.
Kristin, I would love to see it.
Kristin, do you know if it will be played again? I had meant to set the PVR to record it but forgot.
Kristin, I can try to put it online if you can get it to me.
Here is the segment Kristin was talking about:
Very nice Don! I'm very touched, to have my very own page! I should send you some photos to post, too.
I knew you were touched because you are in public horticulture. However, lets try and get past that flaw and add related photos to the page. Is it possible to include work-a-day pics of maintenance, close-ups of pine dicipline :D, and detail shots you feel like sharing?
Thanks for sharing!!!!
You have to be "touched" to work in horticulture, this is true!
I'm in the middle of crazy event setups this week and next, but I will send some pics your way shortly. I've gotten away from pine bondage and discipline, preferring creative and gentle suggestion for the most part, but we do have a few pines that need to be taught their lessons again. I'll set something up with my volunteers to get some action shots while we re-train some pines.
