Japanese Gardening Organization / JGO Merger with North American...
Last post by don - April 05, 2021, 12:45:47 PM
Dear Japanese gardening friends,
All of you know that many years, much effort and love has gone into creation of Japanese Gardening Organization and its resources.  It has been sustained completely by volunteers and donations.  Your sharing here on the Japanese Gardening Forums has been an inspiration and help to the more than 1000 who have found and offered information here.

2021 finds us completing a merger with our sister organization, North American Japanese Garden Association.  You will find most of the resources from Japanesegardening.org now hosted on their site at najga.org .

I offer my personal thanks and appreciation to you all.  To borrow from our board member, James Hanselman:  Wishing you joy in your garden!

General Discussion / Best for Sloping Hills
Last post by tongwuzi - December 20, 2020, 06:22:27 PM
I am seeking some recommendations for bushes, trees that would be suitable to a sloping, some-part falling hill at a creek side. The site is currently scattered with aged oak. This is with the 5 zone, with moderate winters.

The garden continues to progress. Several closeups of the east garden in a slide show with calm light music in the background. enjoy!

I am so happy to hv this forum as an indispensable resource. I belong to a saltwater reefer forum as well and it has been extremely helpful. It will be nice to share my passion for Japanese Gardens with other like minded members. I am two months in to the first phase of my project and look forward to fellow gardeners sharing their knowledge with me. I am here to learn and as much as I would like to b true to the guidelines and structure of the Japanese garden, I realize that it is a journey and about enjoying the process.

Thank you for replying to this post.  We do see questions about how to go about finding an internship or apprenticeship in Japanese gardening, so I believe your information will be appreciated!

Thanks again,

Good to hear.  When JGO pursued this, the prison administration declined due to safety concerns.  But now there is a Japanese garden where a Japanese garden is most needed!
