The Japanese Garden Organization is fortunate to have Terry Gerlach helping to keep things running. Among the many ways Terry supports this organization is his prolific maintenance of the JGO events calendar. We thought you might be interested in taking a peek into Terry’s personal Japanese garden.
Besides helping JGO, Terry also volunteers for Portland’s Japanese Garden and is an avid Japanese gardener himself. In the late 1990’s, he was presented with what he refers to as “an opportunity” when construction on a nearby road destroyed his entire landscape. He hired a landscape architect and together they created a traditional Japanese garden to replace Terry’s ruined landscape. In this video from The Oregonian, garden specialist Anne Jaeger shows you some of the highlights of Terry’s garden. In addition to the photos above from K.T. Cannon-Eger, the Oregonian website features more shots by photographer Randy L. Rasmussen.
